FAQs
What is an ESCO?
An ESCO is an Energy Service Company – a company other than your Local Utility Company (LDC) that is approved to purchase and sell natural gas for your residence, business and/ or commercial property.
Do the utility companies approve of customers switching to ESCOs?
Yes. The utility companies have no problem with natural gas deregulation and some offer special incentives to assist you with switching to an ESCO.
What if I'm already enrolled with an ESCO?
You can still sign up with JJT Energy! We offer very aggressive rates and will most likely save you even more than you already are!
What is the NYS PSC?
The New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) is charged with monitoring the deregulated energy markets – natural gas and electricity.
What does deregulation mean to me?
Deregulation offers you the freedom of choice and the opportunity to save on your natural gas costs by purchasing natural gas from an ESCO.
Who will handle service, repairs and emergencies?
Your local utility company will still continue to deliver the gas to your business as well as handle meter readings, repairs and emergency calls.
Will there be interruptions in my service?
No. The transition is seamless. We handle all the details of contacting your Utility Company and start providing your natural gas at the beginning of the next eligible billing cycle.

Yes. The utility companies have no problem with natural gas deregulation and some offer special incentives to assist you with switching to an ESCO.
Will I receive two separate bills each month for my natural gas?
No. Your Utility Company will continue to bill each month. The bill will identify JJT Energy as your natural gas supply company. You will only make 1 payment each month.
Is the Customer ID section of my bill the same as the Account Number?
No. We need only your Account Number for our purposes. For National Grid customers it is a 10 digit number...15 digits for Con Ed customers.
If I’m not satisfied with JJT Energy, can I switch back?
Yes, you can. And there are no additional costs for switching. But you won’t want to switch once you see the savings of JJT.
What do I have to do to switch?
Just call JJT and provide us with your account number. We take care of the rest.
Switching from our Utility Company to JJT Energy sounds too good to be true? Are you sure there is no catch?
It is truly as simple and legitimate as described on this website! Deregulation provides greater savings to consumers by allowing them to choose their natural gas provider and the gas utilities are fine with you switching to an ESCO. JJT guarantees no catch and we look forward to hearing from you soon!
